German-born University of Vermont scientist Bernd Heinrich has dedicated his life to the study and preservation of ravens in New England. The naturalist has compiled the numerous calls of the raven to determine how they relate to feeding and mating patterns.

Pillars of the community
Article Abstract:
In May 1950, two pillars were erected at the entrance to Patton Park in Hamilton, Massachusetts by the people of two French towns that were liberated by General George Patton, after whom the park was named. Patton lived in Hamilton from 1928 to 1945.
