Article Abstract:
Reservists and members of the National Guard who were called to serve during the Persian Gulf war have found it difficult to land jobs after their tour. The Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Act was enacted to ensure that such servicemen are reinstated in their jobs.

American Legion National Commander Joseph J. Frank was an Army combat engineer in Vietnam. A land mine may have placed him in a wheelchair, but his dedication to serving fellow veterans is unparalleled. He is a member of Post 777 in Crestwood, MO.
