Dr. James Burris, chief consultant for geriatrics and extended care for the Veterans Health Administration (VA), gives his views on the current and future state of long-term VA health care in the U.S. in response to the federal budget restrictions on eligibility and construction grants. He also states that the VA is well prepared to meet veteran's needs.

James Nicholson, who is serving as the U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs states that Veterans Affairs (VA) which takes care of war veterans, is the instrument of America's expression of gratitude to her defenders. The nation's obligations to veterans would be honored with the full measure of benefits and services VA is uniquely qualified to deliver.
