Article Abstract:
A 45-acre botanical Brigadoon in the midst of some of the thickest suburban sprawl and congested traffic in the East, 'Garden in the Woods' is one of the most improbable nature preserves in New England that evokes the beauty of a 400-year-old precolonial landscape. Garden in the Woods is an effort of the New England Wild Flower Society (NEWFS), a 105-year-old experiment in native plant conservation.

The number of Drive-Ins in America are on the decline, and owners Ray and Elaine Herb hope that the new owners will continue with the business that represents Americana - cars, movies, family, romance and junk food.

The popularity of the ATVs (all-terrain vehicle) in the New England area has lead to a controversy as hunters complain that the machines make their trek pointless, spoiling the tracks and the peace. However, the four-wheelers retaliate by stating that they too pay taxes and so can ply on any road.
