Article Abstract:
This article examines applications by blacks for different kinds of employment in urban areas and the extent to which they are hired. Results show that lower-educated blacks applied less frequently in suburban areas than in urban areas due to lack of information and high costs; they are also less likely to be hired in suburban establishments.
