Gulliver among the Lilliputians
Article Abstract:
The legislation proposed by Assemblywoman Paula Boland and liberal Senator Tom Hayden has made the anticipated breakup of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) easier. The proponents of this legislation are faced with the twin problems of absence of leadership and a resource crunch. The opponents, LAUSD and United Teachers of Los Angeles have not protested the reorganization plan and have pledged to provide whatever data is required by the administrators.

A time for new dreams
Article Abstract:
Californians should become aware of the real problems their society is burdened with and should understand their complex culture and history to come to terms with reality. The Californian psyche is dominated by the image of California as a dream land and a place of plentiful opportunities. These ideas blur the vision of Californians and they fail to understand their society's problems such as violence and racism.
