Dan Lungren

Article Abstract:

California Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Lungren has clearly become more politically mature since he was a young Congressman. His reintroduction is revealing him to be more complex and less ideologically predictable than many observers had believed. He is focusing on drugs, education, crime and addressing the complex fiscal links between the state and the counties, with policies including reviving community colleges. So far, he has faced little competition from the Democrats.
