Do federal grants boost school spending? Evidence from Title I
Article Abstract:
Title I reflects one-third of the US Department of Education's elementary and secondary budget. The education program Title I enhances the resources of school districts that deal with economically disadvantaged children. Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), the influence of Title I funding on schools' revenues and spending is examined.
