Effort levels in a Cournot Nash contest with asymetric information
Article Abstract:
The average probability of success of a player in a Cournot Nash contest tends to be low in a situation in which the uninformed player's effort is treated as an uncertain input. Such situation suggests that the player is not knowledgeable with regards to who is the ex post favorite or underdog. When a player regard his effort as a risky input, changes in the belief and relative ability of an uninformed player tends be influential in his effort.
