Electric bikes give police extra surge while pursuing bad guys

Smith and Wesson Bicycle Division of Springfield, MA, ZAP Power Systems Corp of Sebastopol, CA, and Trek Bicycle Corp of Waterloo, WI, have introduced new bike models aimed at enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement officers. Smith and Wesson and ZAP have joined forces in producing a police bike that has an electric motor to give police officers a little boost. Trek's 1999 police bike model features additional comfort with a new shock absorber at the front.

Software protects encrypted data

Bedford, MA-based Digital Delivery Inc unveiled its Confidential Courier 2.1 turnkey software system that protects encrypted data. The new software program offers corporations two new optional add-ons, the CourierPAK AppAware and CourierPAK AccessPeriod. The CourierPAK AppAware allows the document's author to point which application recipients must use to open the CourierPAK. The CourierPAK AccessPeriod specifies a time window during which files can be viewed.
