GOP battles in Bakersfield
Article Abstract:
The Grand Old Party (GOP) domination of Kern County politics has not prevented the Republicans from waging a fierce internal war. Bakersfield and Kern County are strongholds for the Republican Party and as of February 2004, the GOP claimed 49 percent of Kern's registered voters, compared to only 36 percent for Democrats.
