Internet resource for building, construction community

Article Abstract:

Cahners Business Information is teaming up with the CMD Group and DPIC Companies/Orion Capital to develop an Internet-based information resource for the building and construction industry. The resource, named Buildingteam.com, will serve as a one-stop shopping resource for architects/designers, engineers/specifiers, contractors, facilities managers and owners. The resource would provide project and cost information, product information, standards and regulatory information, as well as industry news and a number of unique management tools.

Intelligence gathering: "Smart Indexing" to rescue

Decision-support information and services company Lexis-Nexis has launched its new smart indexing technology for preparing company dossiers. The new service, caled Company Dossier, offers on-point, easy-to-use company reports, collected from Lexis-Nexis data warehouse. The service is created with the company's SmartIndexing technology to ensure the accuracy and quality of information. Among the information provided are corporate snapshots, news, business analysis, financial analysis, legal analysis and intellectual property analysis.

Security-concerned travelers seek expert advice

Travelers rely mostly on travel agents to gather information on destinations which could be dangerous due to natural, or made-made disasters such as terrorism. Corporate security officials also provide travel safety advisory reports to their top executives and employees who are required to travel abroad. The other sources of travel advisers include friends or business associates, doctors, newspapers and the State Dept.
