Article Abstract:

Wayne Sakamoto, lead coordinator for the Safe Schools unit of the San Diego County Department of Education, credits the intervention of school officials for his determination to make school environments safe and sociable for children. Safe Schools offers interventions such as inviting reformed gang members to talk with children about nonviolence.

Talk about a legacy

Article Abstract:

On his departure as Mayor of San Francisco, the long political career of Willie Brown is reflected upon. Though Brown himself refused to discuss the legacy he would leave behind, one of the most remarkable aspects of that legacy will be his deal making ability which enabled him to serve both Republican and Democrat interests simultaneously.
