'True' integration growing, evolving in CCTV and monitoring

Article Abstract:

"True integration," or the use of RS-232 type connectors to obtain feedback from a device that is being monitored or controlled by manipulating a relay or contact closure, is growing and evolving in CCTV and monitoring industry, according to Steven T. Kuntz, national sales manager for Gyyr of Anaheim, CA. Kuntz added that a closed circuit of the entire CCTV system's components, such as recorders, pan/tilt and multiplexer, as a single system will keep on evolving. Gyyr's new product is an improved version of its AXxess 202 security management system, which enables to integrate CCTV with the TLC2100-S16 timelapse recorder of Gyyr.

Article Abstract:

The password continues to be the most used means of computer security system in corporate offices according to a survey conducted by SECURITY Magazine. The survey, which reveals that 82% of security directors use passwords, also revealed the use of other techniques for protecting computer centers and other data storage areas. These include the use of such means as access controls, cables and lockdowns on computer hardware and the presence of security officers.
