Comparative dynamics in a health investment model
Article Abstract:
Author H. Oniki developed an approach to comparative dynamics in a previous study that has made it possible to analyze the influence of parametric changes on the entire optimal paths. A study applied Oniki's technique to health investment models developed in other studies by author V. Dardanoni and B.A. Forster. Oniki's method was exemplified in the analysis by deriving comparative dynamic results for a change in the depreciation rate, whose effects on the optimal paths were evaluated using a phase diagram.

Welfare loss from variations: further considerations
Article Abstract:
Health care economists need to understand the factors that contribute to the rise of 'small areas variations' in medical care so they can formulate new measures that will help reduce welfare losses caused by such variations. These factors will also enable them to create new economic models that will explain the effects of 'small area variations' on the consumers' chances of getting cost-effective medical care.

A bootstrap approach to medical decision analysis
Article Abstract:
Bootstrap systematic approach was utilized to effectively assess factors related to medical decision and patients' reaction to medical treatment. Bootstrap approach employs a computationally systematic method of sampling, in which a series of samples are drawn from available data. It is specifically of great importance in creating confidence intervals for cost-effectiveness or cost-utility study.
