Article Abstract:

An analysis of the statistical data of the health insurance premiums, the hike in the premiums of the health maintenance organizations, many employers decision to opt for consumer-directed health plans (CDHPs) in order to limit their net cost increases for health benefits, mergers and acquisitions taking place in the health care sector, the ceasing of health maintenance organizations from providing Medicare, medical frauds and the Supreme Court's decision to not to hold managed care plans accountable for defective medical decisions, are discussed.
