Managers, leaders, and teams in a team-based environment
Article Abstract:
Leadership is a quality that distinguishes managers from their teammates. However, not all managers are leaders and not all leaders are managers. In an era of corporate restructuring and downsizing, managers and leaders have critical roles in the evolution toward team-based organizations. Leaders draw out the best from their people and lead the organization to its vision. Managers, on the other hand, protects the welfare of the organization and ensures that all tasks are accomplished and makes decisions on issues concerning customers, inventory and product management.

Building the dream team: don't make it a nightmare
Article Abstract:
Team management plays a pivotal role in enhancing a business enterprise's competitive advantage. It is essential for firms to develop teams composed of self-empowered and extensively trained members in order to meet the challenges of dynamic environment. However, it must be emphasized that teams must be guided with their own mission statements, while ensuring proper team identification of each member. Teams must also be evaluated consistently in terms of trust, support, communication and conflict.
