On the international stability of health care expenditure functions: are government and private functions similar?
Article Abstract:
The stability of health care expenditure functions in a sample of OECD countries is studied that shows a long-term relationship between total health care expenditure (HCE) and gross domestic product (GDP). The results provide evidence against the existence of a unique relationship between health and GDP concluding the differences in healthy systems that may cause differences in the government and the private functions.

Stationarity of health expenditures and GDP: evidence from panel unit root tests with heterogeneous structural breaks
Article Abstract:
Using the econometric techniques in panel unit root tests, the time series properties of per-capita real health care expenditures (HE) and per-capita real GDP in a panel sitting are analyzed. Recently developed panel LM unit root test that allows heterogeneous level shifts, shows a reject on the root null hypothesis for both series.
