Reengineering the front office: cashing in on the cash cow
Article Abstract:
The technique of reengineering individual processes in view of an overall business strategy is presented. The goal of reengineering is to make sure that the company has business processes that avoid mistakes, minimize delays, optimize the employment of assets, promote understanding, are easy to use, adapt to changing customer requirements, continuously provide a competitive edge and keep people focused on the value-added efforts. Business strategy is an important component of reengineering because without it, cost-cutting measures would have no direction.

Strategy: the key to financial payback from reengineering
Article Abstract:
Reengineering is a creative process which focuses on redesigning core value-adding processes in an effort to improve customer satisfaction. Unlike restructuring, reengineering is process-oriented, focuses on growing the business and achieves long-term results. There are three dominant strategic positions to identify the processes which need reengineering: lowest price-cost; superior product; and best total value. The selection of the correct strategy depends on the type of customers, the needs of the customers and the business' capabilities.

Reengineering: forty u$eful hints
Article Abstract:
Business Process Reengineering has proven to be a powerful management tool to enhance efficiency and promote greater productivity. Companies considering adopting the concept should eliminate preexisting corporate mission statements and develop new ones. Moreover, they should focus on 'reinventing' the entire business operations and avoid trying to make incremental changes with the organization. In addition, companies should focus on addressing customer needs and challenge existing approaches to business management.
