Current trends and challenges in marketing an executive candidate
Article Abstract:
Executives are advised to be prepared with a strategic marketing plan (SMP) in case they are fired or laid-off especially during times when downsizing is the norm for most companies. In addition to overcoming the psychological damages that job loss incurs such as loss of self-worth, it is imperative that these executives develop an SMP which involves matching skills with the specific needs of the market. This may warrant taking additional certification or graduate courses which do not even guarantee recruitment in the desired field. Resorting to outplacement firms is also recommended.
