Assuring quality, information, and choice in managed care
Article Abstract:
Results of the Commonwealth Fund Surveys on patients and physicians experiences on managed care over the past five years reveal that managed care plans given to Americans are of poor quality. Also, Americans are having problems choosing the managed care plans that would can provide them with quality health care. The problems include non-provision of choice of plans for American workers and lack of information about the plans. To address these problems, the plans must meet minimum quality standards and adequate information about the plans must be provided.

Article Abstract:
The knowledge of people who refer patients to hospice care services was studied to determine whether their familiarity with the services affects the utilization of hospices. Physicians, nurses, social workers and the clergy were the four groups analyzed. Findings indicated that all four groups were knowledgeable of the counseling and support for patients and patients' families through hospice.
