There may be a genetic basis for some sleep disorders, indicating that a gene controls circadian rhythms. Researchers report three families with a predisposition to a phase-advanced sleep-wake cycle.

Lyme disease agent borrows a practical coat

The role of bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi bacterium in causing Lyme disease is discussed. The bacterium exploits a tick in the saliva of its vector for facilitating invasion of vertebrate hosts.
