Effects of an energy and micronutrient supplement on growth and activity, correcting for non-supplemental sources of energy input in undernourished children in Indonesia

Article Abstract:

The consequences of administering food supplements for a year to two groups of slightly malnourished children in Indonesia are discussed. It was found that the supplement containing 1171 kJ and 12 mg of iron produced benefits in many children in terms of growth and/or activity.

Article Abstract:

Research into the impact of an energy and micronutrient supplement on quantitative and qualitative elements of play among inadequately nourished children is presented. It was found that nutritional supplements had no noticeable impact on the children's level of play.
