Omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon, mackerel, herring and other fish retard inflammation and even reduce weight. Bodybuilders need to ingest carbohydrates before exercise to improve their endurance because carbohydrates provide the fuel for muscles. Eating carbohydrates is also essential but carbo-loading is not advised and eating immediately after a workout does not make a difference.
