Article Abstract:
Employers are encouraged to work towards Y2K compliance to ensure a safe workplace. Government agencies and organizations such as the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the UK's Health and Safety Executive are calling on employers to evaluate the risks, fix the problems and formulate contingency plans. A list of Web sites that offer advice on how to be Y2K compliant is provided.

Issues related to political concerns expressed by the Department of Labor, United States, with regard to improvements of workplace environments are discussed. Particular attention is given to statistical information regarding the decrease of workplace injuries.
