Aspirin alone can help certain patients avoid strokes
Article Abstract:
The use of aspirin may be sufficient to prevent strokes in some patients, according to a paper in JAMA. Such patients have atrial fibrillation conditions, do not have high blood pressure, and do not have other risk factors for stroke. The use of the anticoagulant warfarin in such stroke patients was found to be only minimally useful in reducing stroke rates.
