Aspirin for the primary prevention of cardiovascular events in women and men

Article Abstract:

The benefits and risks of aspirin treatment in the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease vary by sex is determined. The trial showed that, for women and men, aspirin therapy reduces the risk of a composite of cardiovascular events due to its effect on reducing the risk of ischemic stroke in women and myocardial infarction in men and aspirin significantly increases the risk of bleeding to a similar degree among women and men.

Long-term use of aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and risk of colorectal cancer

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to examine the influence of aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in prevention of colorectal cancer. Results reveal that regular, long-term aspirin use reduces risk of colorectal cancer and non-aspirin NSAIDs appear to have a similar effect.
