Assessment of the understanding of the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in primary care physicians

Article Abstract:

The study is designed to assess the understanding of primary care physicians who practice at the state of Florida of the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) as described in the Women's Health Initiative clinical trial. Obstetricians and gynecologists have a better understanding of the risk and benefits of the Women's Health Initiative while the primary care specialists misunderstood the findings of the initiative.

Effect of Balint training on resident professionalism

Article Abstract:

The impact of 6 months of Balint training on self- and faculty-assessed measures of professionalism in obstetrics and gynecology residents is assessed. Six months of Balint training was successful in providing resident education in professionalism, measured by resident self-report and no differences were found on 2 measures of professionalism between the training and control groups.

Predictors of success with the use of donor sperm

Article Abstract:

Women over 40 years old who undergo artificial insemination are less likely to get pregnant than younger women. This was the conclusion of a study of 960 cycles of artificial insemination, which found pregnancy rates of 16% in women under 30, 15% in women between 30 and 35, 8% in women between 35 and 40, and 0% between women over 40.
