BIS-GMA--based resins in dentistry: are they safe?
Article Abstract:
The long-term safety of BIS-GMA--based dental resins is not known. BIS-GMA resins are used to fill cavities. However, they contain a component called bisphenol A that can mimic the female hormone estrogen. If this component leaks into the mouth, it could enter the person's bloodstream. There is a chance that this could happen because saliva contains an enzyme that breaks the resin down into its components. Research on cell cultures and animals have shown that bisphenol A can affect organs that are sensitive to estrogen.

How to avoid window pains
Article Abstract:
Window-related accidents in the US average 266,000 every year. To reduce the risk of accidents involving broken glass, which account for 70% of all injuries, it is advisable to use tempered, laminated, coated or glazed glass. Metal windows are also considered safer than wooden ones because they are more damage-resistant. Practical suggestions on positioning of furniture and fixtures, location of windows, and installation of safety measures to avoid window accidents at home are discussed.

Avoid dump mistakes: they can be grave errors
Article Abstract:
Dump trucks may be used safely if site arrangements, employee safe driving and training are employed. Where and how dumping will occur should be known by those working with or around dump trucks.Workers should avoid blind spots and tip overs. Dump truck operators should check the equipment to prevent mishaps. A spotter should also be employed to control the movement of the dump truck and the dumping of material.
