Behind the times: roadblocks to collecting occupational safety data keep researchers in the dark

Article Abstract:

The occupational safety and health surveillance systems that have been in use to identify and count the workplace injuries and illnesses have become obsolete and create lags in the spotting trends. The need for a uniform medical reporting system with regard to occupational history for easy handling of records and to prepare base of information, which is more elaborate than what is reflected in the old systems is emphasized.
