Article Abstract:

The Bristol Royal Infirmary inquiry has entered its second phase, which aims to identify the lessons learnt for the benefit of the British National Health Service (NHS). The inquiry has been examining the deaths of 29 young children and babies following heart surgery at the Infirmary. It has been revealed that patients and parents were not included in clinical decisions to continue with high-risk surgery.

Despair over nurse's death sentence

British nurse David Chell has been sentenced to death by a Malaysian court on a charge of smuggling 189.6g of pure heroin into the country. Supporters in the United Kingdom are convinced of his innocence and are fighting to have him released.
