Principles of resuscitation in primary care

Article Abstract:

A guideline on the action that health professionals should take when a cardiac arrest occurs in the community is presented. The sequence of events for basic life support includes, checking for patient's response, opening the patient's airway, assessing for signs of normal breathing, placing the patient who is breathing normally in the recovery position, if appropriate, using an automated external defibrillator, and starting cardiopulmonary resuscitation with 30 chest compressions and 2 ventilations for no longer than 10 seconds.

Cardiac monitoring

Article Abstract:

The 12-lead ECG technique is demonstrated which is a very important and accurate diagnostic tool used for the measurement and treatment of ischemic heart disease by providing an effective cardiac monitoring. The analysis shows that though the technique gives a clear view of the cardiovascular system of a human being by locating all the intercostals spaces accurately, it should always be undertaken after acquiring a complete training and in accordance with local policies and protocols.
