Article Abstract:
The various stages of care for HIV and AIDS patients are discussed from the services to the community center that offers testing to the challenges of taking care of someone who's at a more advanced stage of the disease. The economic factors involved in long-term care are noted as well as where to look for when in need for support.

A young German man recounts how two artificial legs and no forearms caused major problems for his mobility and accomplishments. At the age of 21 he came to the US where he was encouraged to learn how to drive. The US is a more friendly place for the disabled, having such features as ramp access.

The mentally handicapped have the same basic rights as others and must not be put into institutions, They must be trained so that they can live full lives, preferably right in the communities. Local volunteers along with local, and higher government agencies must collaborate on programs.
