Case 21-2005: A four-week-old male infant with jaundice and thrombocytopenia

Article Abstract:

A case study about a four-week-old male infant, who was admitted to a hospital due to jaundice, hyperbilirubinemia, thrombocytopenia and abdominal distention, is presented. The infant was clinically diagnosed of having neonatal hemochromatosis and the diagnosis is typically reserved for infants younger than three months of age in whom extrahepatic biliary obstruction is ruled out.
