Case-control study of human papillomavirus and oropharyngeal cancer
Article Abstract:
A case-control study of patients with newly diagnosed oropharyngeal cancer and patients without cancer is performed to evaluate the associations between human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and oropharyngeal cancer. The results show that oral HPV is strongly associated with oropharyngeal cancer among patients with or without the established risk factors of tobacco and alcohol use.
