Chewing tobacco use and dental caries among U.S. men
Article Abstract:
People who use chewing tobacco may have a higher risk of dental cavities. In a study of men participating in the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), 3.5% used chewing tobacco. These men were more likely to have cavities than other men, especially cavities at the gumline. This is most likely caused by the high sugar content of many brands of chewing tobacco.

Is trust a predictor of having a dental home?
Article Abstract:
The sociodemographic characteristics of people having a regular dentist who would help in reducing the disparities in oral health among minorities in the United States are examined. The results show that there should be programs to increase patients' trust in dental professionals that would reduce the disparities in access to dental care and establish dental homes.
