Congruency between nurses' values and job requirements: a call for integrity

Article Abstract:

Nursing-related values vary according to the nurse's experience and skills. The workplace should offer opportunities for nurses at various stages of development, expectations should match that level of development, and nurses should be able to acquire the technical, interpersonal, and managerial skills and creativity they need to advance. Values analysis can help individuals and organizations assess themselves and grow. Values-based learning provides a more holistic learning process than strictly cognitive teaching strategies.
