Coroner calls for fork lift modifications

Article Abstract:

The way in which Robert Leigh was crushed to death after when he was pinned against the cab of his forklift truck after accidentally releasing a lever on the vehicle is discussed. He suffered severe fatal chest and abdominal injuries and was pronounced dead on the spot.

The noise assessor

Article Abstract:

The sound waves hit the ear-drum as it vibrates in sympathy with the ear-drum and transmits that vibration to three tiny bones on the other side. Noise that doesn't injure ear-drum can disrupt concentration especially the one at the wrong pitch.

Scottish farm deaths soar

Article Abstract:

Dr. Roger Nourish, Head of HSE's Agriculture and Food Sector says that the 11 deaths in 2002-03 which occurred in the Scottish farm is very disappointing. These deaths could have been avoided by making the farmers aware of health and safety.
