Cultural exposure may influence Alzheimer's prevalence
Article Abstract:
A study of the impact of cultural factors on the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease that involved elderly Japanese-American men and their counterparts in Japan has revealed a substantial difference in percentages. The Japanese-American men suffered a 5.4% rate of occurrence of Alzheimer's versus the Japanese men who suffered a 1.5% rate of occurrence. Researchers in the study feel that some cultural factor, or factors, is responsible for the observed difference.

The symptoms of Gulf War Syndrome have been duplicated with research on chickens. The combination of pesticides, DEET and permethrin, plus anti-nerve agent, pyridostigmine bromide, caused headache, depression, fatigue and memory loss.
