Damage to ovarian reserve associated with laparoscopic excision of endometriomas: a quantitative rather than qualitative injury
Article Abstract:
A study to evaluate ovarian response to hyperstimulation in women selected for in vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles and have previously undergone laparoscopic enucleation of a monolateral endometrioma is presented. It is found that laparoscopic excision of endometriomas is associated with a quantitative but not qualitative damage to ovarian reserve.

Postsurgical ovarian failure after laparoscopic excision of bilateral endometriomas
Article Abstract:
The frequency of postsurgical ovarian failure in patients undergoing laparoscopic excision of bilateral endometriomas is determined. The results have shown that the patients who were operated on for bilateral endometriomas have a low but definite risk of premature ovarian failure occurring immediately after surgery.
