De-escalating verbal aggression in primary care settings

Article Abstract:

Observant health care providers can be instrumental in defusing aggressive verbal behavior in their patients. Definitions and sources of aggressive verbal behavior, characteristics of at-risk patients, and suggested intervention skills are presented. Aggressive verbal behavior is typically only one element in a cycle of events aimed at regaining self-control. This behavior may often be directed at the nursing staff. High-risk patients include those with brain disorders or substance abusers.

Primary care treatment approach to nongenital verruca

Article Abstract:

Researchers have presented an overview of current treatment options, identifying characteristics, causes, and prevention strategies for patients with nongenital warts. Tagamet has shown promise as a cheaper and easier treatment for nongenital warts compared to traditional therapies such as chemical, freezing, or surgical treatments. Some warts may spread. Therefore, patients need education on the nature of the virus and ways to prevent its spread or further complications.
