Declines in Lung Cancer Rates--California, 1988-1997
Article Abstract:
According to the California Cancer Registry, the incidence of lung cancer in California dropped 14% between 1988 and 1997. This was a substantially greater decrease than in other parts of the country. The greater decrease in California could be a direct result of the California Tobacco Control Program, which was implemented in 1988.
