Diabetes research investment in the European Union

Article Abstract:

The European Union has invested a large sum of money in addition to that invested by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) to conduct research to cure diabetes, which decreases the life expectancy and the quality of life of the people affected by it. The results emphasize the immediate need for the collaboration between Europe and America to fund the diabetes researches, as urgent action is necessary for the diabetic people.

After criticism, more modest cancer genome project takes shape

Article Abstract:

The US National Institutes of Health is set to begin taking applications for the expensive federal project, The Cancer Genome Atlas, to identify the genetic changes that cause cancer in spite of loud skepticism from some scientists. Its goal is to scan the genome of tumors and catalog the genetic alterations associated with cancer that will help researchers develop cancer drugs.
