Didronel PMO contains disodium etidronate that decreases the rate of bone turnover and calcium carbonate, which increases calcium content. Understanding the importance of effective diabetes management

The potentially fatal crises of diabetic ketacidosis (DKA) and hyperosmolar nonketotic coma (HONK) are the complications most widely associated with diabetes mellitus. It is concluded that poor management of the condition can also lead to a range of other equally damaging long-term difficulties.

The twelve standards outlined in the Diabetes National Service Framework (NSF) are discussed. Major advances in the diagnosis and management of diabetes since the launch of NSF strategy in 2003 are reported. Examples of good practice are highlighted and areas for improvements are proposed.
