Chiropractic
Article Abstract:
Chiropractic uses manipulation to correct joint disorders. It is a holistic therapy based on a belief that immobile joints may cause apparently unrelated problems. Daniel David Palmer invented the practice. He believed vertebrae misalignment was responsible for many ailments. However, orthodox practitioners have been wary of chiropractic due to lack of research. From the 1970s and 1980s exponents have conducted clinical trials. British research published in 1990 provided conclusive evidence of the benefits of chiropractic.

Revival tactics
Article Abstract:
The European Resuscitation Council has produced new resuscitation guidelines based on research since 1989. Basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation remains the same but recommendations for advanced resuscitation include management and timing changes. Defibrillation may take precedence over the traditional priorities of airway, breathing and ciculation. Professionals have welcomed the new recommendations but emphasise the necessity for adequate staff training.
