Don't let go of the liability insurance 'tail' coverage
Article Abstract:
Physicians must diligently examine liability insurance coverage when deciding to accept a new job. Physicians should negotiate for the new employer to pay for tail coverage for professional liability policies; otherwise the expense of tail coverage may make a new job offer too expensive to pursue. Also important is the difference between claims-based and occurrence-based policies.
