Evaluating programs to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission in two large Bangkok hospitals, 1999-2001

Article Abstract:

A cross-sectional survey of post-partum HIV infected women in 1999 through 2001 was conducted to evaluate the programs implemented in 1999 to prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission. Although uptake of services was high, inconsistent antenal care, fear of stigmatization and difficulty in disclosing HIV status prevented some women from using the services.
