Friend in court

Article Abstract:

A new American Medical Assn (AMA) initiative, the AMA State Medical Society Litigation Center, is intended to improve the partnership between the association and state medical societies. Young physicians press for solutions to doctor glut

Article Abstract:

Members of the American Medical Assn's (AMA) Young Physicians Section, in attendance at the AMA's 1996 meeting, made some controversial proposals to deal with the problem of physician oversupply. The section also proposed that residency slots be filled only on the basis of merit.

AMA going to bat for doctors at all levels, leaders say

Article Abstract:

American Medical Assn Board Chair P. John Seward, addressing delegates at the association's 1995 meeting, said that pressures to reduce federal spending and eventually balance the budget will inevitably force doctors to make some sacrifices. But he added that the AMA is actively involved in the budget debate, making sure that the interests of doctors and their patients are represented.
