Incidence of cancer and mortality following alpha-tocopherol and beta-carotene supplementation: a postintervention follow-up

Article Abstract:

Beta-carotene and vitamin E supplements may have no beneficial or adverse effects over the long-term, according to a long-term study of 25,563 men. This study originally found a higher risk of lung cancer among smokers who took beta-carotene. However, this risk disappeared when the men were followed for a longer period of time.
