Physicians can learn good customer service and patient satisfaction concepts and practices from the Federal Express Corp. Federal Express has learned that if they take care of employees their employees will deliver when it comes to customer service, and that cost-effectiveness relies very much on product quality. Physicians and managed care plans can learn and adopt good patient service and satisfaction practices from Federal Express and others.

An attention-getting press release is the best way to draw media attention to new technologies, diagnostic techniques or other medical developments, and physicians often must write them themselves. Basic advice for writing a press release is presented. Tips on choosing a title, writing a lead paragraph, editing and timing the release are discussed.

'Possibility thinking' will enable physicians to seek the next new opportunities available in health care. This technique was introduced by Crystal Cathedral Minister Robert Schuller in his book called 'Possibility Thinking'. There should be no concern over what was lost but an eagerness to discover what is possible.
